New address for Door-to-Door Opt-Out

28th June 2013

Royal Mail has changed the address for its infamous Door-to-Door Opt-Out; the freepost permit number is now RSTR-YCYS-TGLJ and the postcode OX1 1AA:

Freepost RSTR-YCYS-TGLJ
Door-to-door opt-outs
Royal Mail
Kingsmead House
Oxpens Road
OXFORD
OX1 1AA

The e-mail address and telephone number haven't changed:

optout@royalmail.com
01865 796964

It's not the first time they've changed the contact details for the opt-out scheme. As long ago as August 2006 Postwatch (since replaced by Consumer Focus / Consumer Futures) was complaining that Royal Mail kept changing the address people had to write to. Since, Royal Mail has made it a little easier to be contacted; they've added a page with information about opting out (although they've moved twice already since they first create it) and you can now even ask Sarah how to stop Royal Junk Mail.

It's a bit like playing cat & mouse; they keep trying to hide and we'll keep pursuing them!
